This course introduces a wide range of legal issues that impact real estate licensees. Beginning with a discussion of the various bodies of laws that apply to licensees, this course then moves through many topics including deeds, land descriptions, air rights, water rights, mineral rights, easements, building codes, taxes, deed restrictions, wills and foreclosures. Students will gain an understanding of the legal system, ownership of real estate, restrictions on ownership, and transfer of ownership including involuntary transfers. The course wraps up with a look at important business issues such as commissions and types of listings.
