What are my state requirements for continuing education?

Do I need to have a PayPal account to purchase classes?

No.  When you get to the payment screen, click on the link at the bottom that says "Don't Have a PayPal Account?".  You can then checkout with just a credit card.


Do the courses require you to take an exam?  What if I don't pass?

Unless your state has specific requirements, our courses normally provide a short quiz at the end of each section, plus a final exam.  You can retake these quizzes an unlimited number of times if you don't pass (except in Missouri, you must retake the entire course if you fail the final exam twice).

How do I obtain certificates after completing a course?  What do I do with them?

Immediately after completing a course, you can view or print a Course Completion Certificate directly from the website by clicking on MY CLASSES.  Depending on your state, you may need to submit these to your licensing agency.

I forgot my username or password (or I can't login)

At the login screen, click on "Recover Password".  Then enter your email address (the same one that you used when registering as a student).  Your username and a new password will be emailed to you (typically within 5 minutes).  If you don't receive the email with the new password, check your spam or junk mail folder, and be sure you have entered the same email address that you used when you first registered as a student.  The email comes from webmaster@trainingcove.com.  You can also look for your original registration email entitled "Welcome to Training Cove!" that contains your username and password.


How long do I have to complete a class?

All classes MUST be completed within 180 days from the date of purchase.  After 180 days, the class will expire and will no longer be accessible.


What browsers & devices are supported?

Here are some of the configurations that are tested & working:

Windows 10 / 8 / 7 / Vista / XP:
Browsers supported: Chrome, Edge, Internet Explorer, Opera, Safari, Firefox

Note: Safari for Windows requires a plugin
Note: AOL Browser works, but is based on an outdated version of Chrome and has a few minor issues.

MAC OS/X:
Browsers supported: Safari

Linux OS:
Safari
Firefox (May need to manually select audio mode - see note below)

Mobile Devices:
Android Devices v2.2 or later
Android Device v2.1 or earlier, or Opera browser (may require audio clip download before playing)

Note: If your default browser on your Android device does not play the audio automatically, you can either click PLAY on every slide OR you can download the Firefox browser from the Google Play Store and it will automatically play the audio on each slide.

Note: Apple has disabled automatic playing of audio/video on their mobile devices, so you must click PLAY button on every slide of class to hear the audio

Other devices/browsers may work fine, but have not been tested and are not guaranteed to work.  Please let us know if you are using a configuration not listed so we can update our list (send email to help@trainingcove.com ). 

Audio Modes:
Training Cove provides numerous modes for playing audio during our courses.  While most devices/browsers will automatically configure themselves correctly, you can also select the mode manually if you cannot hear the audio.  To select a mode, just hit the HELP (?) button at the bottom of any slide during the course.


During a course, I can't hear the audio.

Be sure your speakers are on and the volume is turned up (or use headphones).  There might be TWO volume controls that you need to adjust...a software setting on your computer AND an actual volume knob on your computer speakers.  Be sure BOTH are adjusted properly.

If you still cannot hear the audio, click on the Help (?) button at the bottom of the slide and try using one of the other audio modes available.


I use an older Blackberry and cannot pause the audio or use the dropdown list to change sections.

Older Blackberry devices do not support these functions.  If you need to backup or listen to the audio again for a slide, use the RESTART button instead.


While taking a course on my mobile device, I cannot see the slide while simultaneously listening to the accompanying audio.

Some mobile devices do not support multitasking (iPhone) or do not support embedded audio (early Android devices), so there is no way to do both simultaneously at this time.  Be sure to check with your manufacturer periodically for an updated operating system or browser.  In the meantime, just listen to the audio first and then view the slide.


During a course, I have to scroll down to see the audio controls.

You need to switch your browser to full-screen mode (hit F11 in most browsers), or simply hide some of the toolbars so you can see more of the web page.  You can also click on the Settings (wrench) button at the bottom and switch the class into a special mode for extra widescreen displays, which usually solves the problem.


I am using Safari for Windows and cannot hear the audio.

When using Safari for Windows, you must install the Windows Media Player Plugin.   Please note that this plugin was originally designed for FireFox, but it is compatible with Safari for Windows too.  And FireFox no longer requires the plugin.


 I am using an old version of FireFox and cannot hear the audio.

For old versions of Firefox on Windows (version 20.0 or earlier), you must install the Windows Media Player Plugin.   Alternatively, you can just update your software to the latest version of Firefox by going to the Firefox button in the upper left, then Help->About.


The timer at the end of the section doesn't seem to be working

When you click on a link for additional resources, be sure the link opens in a separate window or tab....otherwise you will exit the course and the timer will stop running.  If your browser doesn't open a separate tab when you click on a link, try RIGHT-clicking on the link and then choose to open it in a separate window.  When you are done studying the additional material, close the separate window or tab, then click the "Update Time Remaining" button to see the correct time remaining.

Also, if you leave your computer for more than 15 minutes, the timer will stop running completely.  Be sure that you click "Update Time Remaining" button at least once every 15 minutes.
