Renew Your Ohio Real Estate License

Ohio Salespersons and Brokers who hold an active real estate license are required to complete continuing education courses to keep their real estate license active.  Thirty hours of approved continuing education is required every 3 years on or before the licensee’s date of birth.

Training Cove, www.trainingcove.com, offers all 30 approved real estate continuing education credits.  Our state license number is RECE.2014000798.

All 30 hours of renewal education can be taken online.  Each licensee is required to complete 9 hours of mandatory classes which include the following topics: 3 hours of Civil Rights, 3 hours of Ohio Core Law and 3 hours of Canons of Ethics.  Training Cove includes all of these classes in their 30-Hour Renewal Package.  In addition, Training Cove's Canons of Ethics course entitled "Canons and the Code" meets the National Association of REALTORS® QUADRENNIAL requirement standard. Licensees need to confirm with their local REALTOR® association to make sure they will accept it.

Licensees can instantly print out an certificate of completion as soon as the licensee finishes a Training Cove course. Licensees are required to submit proof of completed classes to the Ohio Division of Real Estate and Professional Licensing.  The Licensee is responsible for filling out and submitting the "Renewal Application with Education Compliance Form" which can be found HERE.  This form, along with copies of certificates of completion and the renewal fee must be postmarked no later than midnight of a Licensee's birthday/renewal date.

A licensee cannot renew their real estate license any earlier than two months prior to the filing deadline.  Pre-license and post-license education may not be used for continuing education.

All licensees who are aged 70 years and older who hold an inactive license, are exempt from the continuing education requirement. Licensees age 70 and older who hold an active license must only complete the 9 mandatory Ohio-specific credit hours.
